Our aim is to encourage more solo (and non-solo) gig-goers to meet up at live music venues across the world and support others that have never been to one on their own, who find it hard to find someone to go with, or those who just want to meet new people. Through the Solo Armada we have helped so many people, and we want to spread that far and wide!
What does it mean to be part of the Solo Armada?
Don’t worry, there’s no weird initiation ceremony. We’re not a cult….yet (Although some of the original members have matching tattoos that they got the weekend they first met at the original Lost Evenings).
If you’ve been to one gig or a thousand. If you prefer to go solo to every gig or you’re looking for new friends to share the expearance with. Even if you just love music!
The Solo Armada is for everyone and it’s whatever you want it to be! Meet new people, experiance and discover a band or artist you didn’t know about, engage or observe. It doesn’t matter.
The Solo Armada is you and is here through the support of others to be whatever you need or want it to be.
Are there any rules?
Yes! Simple ones!
1. Support Music!
Get out, go to gigs, support local venues and see bands/artists you’ve never heard of!
2. Enjoy yourself!
It’s easy to get bogged down with everyday life. We’re here once and we don’t have the luxury of a 1-UP mushroom.
Make friends, dance and sing! We might not all be here this time next year!
3. Be more kind!
We’re all in this together to create a welcoming, inclusive environment. Treat everyone with respect, support those that need it and if you can, make someones life that little bit better.
How can you help?
Spread the word. Meet new people. Particularly at gigs.
Use the Gigs & Gatherings page to add the gigs that you’re attending and see which bands and Artists people are seeing.
The Solo Armada was born from a few people that had a passion for music. Those people took a chance going to a gig on their own and randomly met up. They talked. They danced. They sang. And they became very good friends. Best friends. And that is too precious to an experiance to keep to a small few.
So invite people out to gigs. Go along to a gig on your own if you haven’t before.
Get away from social media and get social again!
The only thing that’s left to do is to find a gig! We’ve got a handy list of our Upcoming Events, or if you want to get to know us a little first check out our bio’s in Meet the Crew!
