Nick Alexander Stage: Sean Tobin

7th May 2019 0 By Wes Bowie

Across the four days of Lost Evenings 3 there are seven acts appearing each day of the festival and that’s BEFORE Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls headline.

Leading up to the festival the Solo Armada will be highlighting some of the supports and who they are, particularly those that are appearing on the Nick Alexander Stage. Some bands/artists you may already be familiar with but some might be a complete mystery.

Hopefully by the time we have published the last article you will not only have discovered new music but also have a clearer idea of who you definitely want to see on the Nick Alexander Stage at Lost Evenings 3.

The Solo Armada will be there throughout welcoming those that have travelled to the festival alone and who would like some company to laugh, dance and sing. However ANYONE is welcome to join us, it’s about having as good a time as possible!

As a solo artist who got his start playing covers in coffee shops, bars and basements around New Jersey, Sean’s influences range from the Punk Rock sounds of the Stone Pony to the Americana grumble of a Chevrolet pickup and everything in-between.

Sean released his debut album, This Midnight, on July 13th, 2018. The album features eight original songs ranging from upbeat rock tones to slow, sleepy sounds of Everything & You.

Sean grew up in Brielle, New Jersey, just ten miles south of the music Mecca that is Asbury Park. Entranced by the rock n’ roll scene of seaside bars and the innate rhythm of his home state, Sean wanted nothing more than to contribute a new sound to the symphony– his sound.

When he was 20, Sean moved to Ireland for six months where he performed as a busker on the streets of Galway. Two years later, after getting a degree in Creative Writing from Fairfield University, Sean returned to Europe to walk El Camino de Santiago in Spain with nothing but his guitar and a backpack. He performed in every major city along the pilgrimage– Leon, Burgos, and Santiago de Compostela– and then continued his tour of Europe in Lisbon, Porto, Lagos, Madrid, Barcelona, Nice, and Rome. Three months later, he returned to his favorite streets in the city of Galway.

Sean currently lives in Jersey City, NJ.
