Women in the Spotlight – MY BAD SISTER

Women in the Spotlight – MY BAD SISTER

13th March 2019 0 By Wes Bowie

Some of our favourite musicians have started out as little-known, unsigned bands. Some of them still are! With this in mind, here is a place for us to promote the artists you just have to check out. Give them a listen and then let us know what you think.

Throughout the month of March the Solo Armada is celebrating International Women’s Day (8th March) by highlighting female singer/songwriters and bands that excite us all through their lyrics and music. Follow Solo Armada social media on:

Find out more about the Solo Armada and what we do:

Performing since the age of three, my bad sister are singer / songwriters , rappers, recording artists & professional dancers delivering a Cockney-cabarave mash-up of jungle, drum n bass, hip hop, house, bassline, punk and tekno.

For the last seven years they have tour d Europe extensively playing main stages at festivals including Glastonbury, BoomTown Fair , Beats for Love (Czech), also Fuji Rock Festival (Japan), ADM Festival (Holland), Freekuency Festival (Portugal) to name a few.

East London-born Identical twins Polly & Sophie Duniam are a turbo-charged, all-singing, all-dancing duo making big waves on the under ground rave scene, a creative force to be reckoned with, mashing up cockney-style vocals and rap with bass driven beats. They call this eclectic creation, a Cabarave.

Growing up with a dance-teaching mum the twins have performed together since the age of three. Later they became child stars playing the lead roles in the 1999 BBC adaptation of home farm twins. Razor -sharp mirrored choreography, boundary-pushing costumes and super – catchy lyrics have earned them some serious love from ravers all over the world. they’ve toured Europe extensively with their own live show as well as joining pop legends, The Pet Shop Boys on the Pandemonium World Tour . My Bad Sister are an unforgettable live act… a must see!
